Do You Want Reduce Your Blood Pressure?Tips and Medication!

High blood pressure, or hypertension, is very common; it is thought that at least 50 million Americans suffer from the condition.
When you have high blood pressure, or hypertension, the force of blood against your artery walls is too strong. High blood pressure can damage your arteries, heart, and kidneys, and lead to atherosclerosis and stroke. Hypertension is called a "silent killer'' because it does not cause symptoms unless it is severely high and, without your knowing it, causes major organ damage if not treated.
Your blood pressure measurement consists of two numbers: systolic and diastolic.
The systolic measurement is the pressure of blood against your artery walls when the heart has just finished pumping (contracting). It is the first or top number of a blood pressure reading.
The diastolic measurement is the pressure of blood against your artery walls between heartbeats, when the heart is relaxed and filling with blood. It is the second or bottom number in a blood pressure reading.

Diet: If you have high blood pressure::
* Plan a menu and stick to it. Do not eat snacks between meals. When shopping, create a list ahead of time and keep to the list. Try not to shop when you are hungry.
* Avoid foods that are high in fat, including fried food and junk food. If possible, eat low-fat and nonfat food, fresh fruits and vegetables, and whole-grain bread.
* Broil, roast or steam foods. Try not to eat fried foods.
* Try to maintain a regular meal schedule. If you must eat out, order carefully. Consider packing a lunch instead of eating fast food.
you need exercise if you feel you have high blood pressure:-
Regular exercise aids in lowering blood pressure. The heart gains strength, and thus can work better because it does not need to beat as fast. Additionally, in order to accommodate the higher blood flow, the body adds more arterioles and capillaries after regular exercise. With more blood vessels, the total peripheral resistance is reduced.

Results can be achieved by exercising just half an hour or 45 minutes a day. The exercise does not have to be continuous; short sessions of 10 or 20 minutes at a time are acceptable. Taking the stairs instead of the elevator, going for a brisk walk at lunch, doing yard work or household chores may all be ways to exercise.

General Causes of High Blood Pressure!
In most cases, a doctor may not be able to pinpoint the exact cause of your high blood pressure. But several factors are known to increase blood pressure, including obesity, heavy alcohol use, family history of high blood pressure, high salt intake, and aging. A sedentary lifestyle, stress, low potassium intake, low calcium intake, and resistance to insulin may also cause your blood pressure to rise.

Medication for High Blood Pressure:-
Norvasc is in a class of drugs called calcium channel blockers. Norvasc relaxes (widens) the blood vessels (veins and arteries), making it easier for the heart to pump and reducing its workload. Norvasc is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and to treat angina (chest pain). Norvasc may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

Aldactone is in a class of drugs called potassium-sparing diuretics (water pill). Aldactone is used to reduce the amount of fluid in your body without causing the loss of potassium. Aldactone is used to treat edema (swelling) and hypertension (high blood pressure). Aldactone is also used to treat potassium deficiency and hyperaldosteronism (a hormonal disorder).
